New York Pitch Conference

Good news! I applied to attend the Algonkian NY Pitch Conference next month & I was accepted!

In case you don’t know, the NYPC is a four day conference during which writers gather in workshops & learn to perfect their novel pitch. During the course of the conference, writers have the opportunity to pitch to four different editors from major publishing houses like Random House & Penguin.

It’s pretty expensive & I wasn’t sure if it was worth the money, but I read some reviews of it & it seems pretty legit. I figure even if I go and none of the editors ask to see more of my MS, at least I’ll have gotten the experience. I’m sure I’ll meet a lot of other writers there, & since I only know a couple of other serious writers, that alone makes it worth the money.

Anyway, I’m super excited & I’ll definitely come back & post about how it turns out.
